Coronary heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the United States. Stroke is the No. 3 cause of death and the leading cause of disability. Cigarette smoking, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and diabetes all increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. It’s important to know your risks factors.

How can you reduce your risk?

1. Understand that you are what you eat and that lifestyle habits do matter! Choose a healthy diet from a variety of nutritious foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole-grain products and fat-free/low-fat dairy products.

2. Don’t eat more calories than you burn up everyday.

3. Exercise at least 30 minutes on most days of the week. Exercise is good for your heart and your bones! Walking, jogging, swimming, skiing, dancing are just a few exercises to try.

4. Limit foods and beverages that are high in calories and low in nutrients. Limit foods high in saturated fat, cholesterol and high sodium content. Remember to read the labels.

5. Don’t smoke tobacco.

6. Drink alcohol only in moderation. Women should have no more than 1 drink per day; two drinks per day for men.

We provide state-of-the-art Digital X-rays on-site.
